Remarks by Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in the U.S. on Some Nobel Laureates' Groundless Accusations Against the Embassy
2021/07/30 05:00

Lately, some Nobel laureates issued a statement expressing their “concern” over the normal performance of duties of the Embassy. Their remarks are completely untenable.

Respect for other countries’ sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states are basic norms governing international relations. There is but one China in the world. The government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. The Chinese government has firm determination to safeguard its sovereignty, security and development interests.

China is a staunch defender of cyber security and a victim of cyber attacks. We have been fighting such attacks launched inside China or using China’s cyber infrastructure in accordance with law. We do not accept any groundless accusations.

International exchanges and cooperation are a significant driving force for scientific and technological development. China stands ready to engage in open, inclusive and mutually beneficial international scientific and technological cooperation with other countries, including the U.S., and international organizations, and provide scientific and technological support for the sustainable development of mankind, with a view to contributing to a community with a shared future for mankind and delivering more benefits to people of all countries.
